Our client, operating in the engineering space, seeks a Financial Accountant to join their team, based in Johannesburg. This role reports into the Group Financial Manager, and oversees the finances for 5 entities under the group, three of which are cross border, Zambia, Botswana and Mozambique. ResponsibilitiesFull financial function for 5 seperate entities, 2 local, 3 foreignPrepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reportsCompile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactionsMaintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control proceduresAnalyse and review expenditures to understand cost drivers and assist with budget preparationMonitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completenessPrepare and review revenue, expense, payroll and monthly accrual entriesAnalyse revenue and expenditure trends and assist with ensuring expenditure controlInteract with internal and external auditors in completing auditsAccounting up to trial balance, recon Income/Balance sheet account, prep monthly including managing fixed assets and prepayments and provisional expenses and intercompany expensesManagement statements, calculation and submission of VAT & PAYE, Warranties, following up on payments from debtorsRequirementsRelevant tertiary qualification 3 years experience in a similar roleSAP experience is essentialPlease note that if you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of your application, please consider it as unsuccessful for this particular role.
