MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A bachelors degree (or higher) in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred.Practical knowledge gained through experience is equally valuable.Minimum 5-10 years of hands-on experience in vegetable production.Proficiency in managing all aspects of crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting SKILLS REQUIRED Plant biology/Crop Experience:In-depth understanding of growth requirements, and best practices.Equipment/Machinery:Optimisation with irrigation equipment, calibrations, flow rates, dose rates and problem solving.Planning and scheduling:Ability to create schedules, manage crop tasks, and optimize resource allocation.Pest and disease management:Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) techniques.Team leadership/Team Player:Experience in supervising farm workers, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient operations.Quality control:Commitment to maintaining high-quality produce.Budgeting and cost management:Ability to manage expenses related to seed, fertilizers, labour, and equipment.Adaptability:Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and adopt new technologies.Analytics/Research/Reporting:Ability to understand numbers, trends and present findings in reports.
