Junior Lab Analyst (6 Month contract) required for a reputable company based in East London, Eastern Cape Requirements:National Diploma (Analytical Chemistry) or equivalentKnowledge of relevant food safety requirements will be an added advantageExcellent written and verbal communication skills.IT literate in Microsoft applications.A strong self-starter, self-motivated with a flexible and adaptable working approach.A team playerResponsibilities:Inputting of accurate information into electronic platforms (PowerBI, Entecom)Conducting analysis (chemical and microbiological analysis as per SOPSCalibration of instruments when on dutyConduct tasks as required by QAC to ensure compliance with BRC standardsJunior Analyst must ensure that his/her workspace is kept neat and tidy in accordance with the 5S principlesPerforming routine microbiological testing (Yeasts & Moulds, TPC, Coliforms and TAB) on product and CIP water.Assisting with environmental monitoring.Performing advanced testing using NIR spectrometry, HPLC and UV/VIS spectrophotometry (Chlorophyll, lactic acid and ethanol).Perform more routine product testing when required (Brix, acid, colour and pulp etc.)Should you wish to apply please email your CV through to Kerry O’Hagan at
