Minimum Requirements:- A relevant Doctoral Degree- A qualification in Nursing Education that is registered with the South African Nursing Council- Professional registration with the South African Nursing Council- At least 9 years experience in higher education- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in nursing- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor.- Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research.- Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).Added Advantages- A qualification in Nursing Management that is registered with the South African Nursing Council- Evidence of professional and academic standing at national and international levels- Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship of early career academics.- Evidence of successfully hosting post-doctoral research fellows.- Evidence of national and international collaboration- Evidence of community engagement integrated with teaching, learning or research.- Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation.- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules.- Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor.- Secure external research grants and establish research programs.- Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows.- Establish institutional, national and international collaborations.- Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff.- Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research.- Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university level
