PRIMARY PURPOSEProvide all-inclusive asset management for the safe and efficient operations of plant and equipment at the two facilities. Ensure all asset management functions are planned; competent and adequate resources are allocated; competencies are acquired and developed; introduce a culture of prevention and continual improvement.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum BEng/BSc or BTech in Mechanical/Electrical EngineeringGovernment Certificate Competency (GCC Factories) as pre-requisite; registration as Pr Eng preferredMust have at least 6 years of experience in Mechanical & Electrical maintenance in a ManufacturingPlant environment of which 3 years should have been in a management role.Experience in Project Management would be advantageous.Knowledge of hazardous chemicals is preferredProven knowledge and experience in steam generation (Boilers Management) and air compressors preferredSound knowledge of OHS Act and Legal Liability, including ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 standardsPerformance and strategic management skillsFinancial management skills would be advantageous KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TOAppointed as designated competent person under OHS Act, General Machinery Regulation 2.1Maintenance SystemsEnsure plant and equipment availability to meet production schedules and delivery datesProvide advanced technical guidance and advisory service to own staff and all other departmentsImplement reporting and control measures for improvement of maintenance efficiencies(cost, quality, equipment availability)PlanningInitiate continuous improvement programs to ensure optimal maintenance capabilityDevelop and implement a strategic plan (1-3 years) to address upgrading of plants and replacementof obsolete equipmentMaintain the ERP plant equipment dataDraw up, approve, and schedule maintenance tasks for preventative maintenance as per production schedulesLeadership and managementEnsuring compliance with all statutory requirements with regard to plant and equipmentEstablish training requirements for all maintenance disciplinesDevelop succession plans for all maintenance disciplinesDevelop internal maintenance policies in line with broader company policiesContract and assess subordinates through proper goal alignment & calibrate results of assessmentsacross departmentsEffectively communicate and build relationships with peers, subordinates, senior management and customersManagement of Steam Generation FacilitySchedule and generation of steam to all production facilities according to their production schedules.Monitor efficiency of boilers and planning of coal and oil deliveries.Ensure 3 yearly statutory inspections, repairs and any other required maintenance requirements are completedMonitor and ensure boiler emissions are within limits as per the relevant Atmospheric EmissionsLicence Site ServicesMaintenance of the sites terrain and piping infrastructureCompressed air supply to all facilitiesElectricity supply to all facilities, monitoring and measuring per facilityWater supply to all facilities, monitoring and measuring per facilityMaintenance of the buildings on the two sitesContract technical scoping and administration (maintenance services)Contractor management for maintenance workPerform Audits across different disciplines and implement corrective actions for audit findings in own responsibility areas.Incident Investigations, findings and corrective actions for Engineering facilitiesAssess safety consequences of any modification/change in plant and equipment.
