Job DescriptionThe Health and Safety Agent/s shall manage and report on all contracts that contribute towards the development of the project. Contracts that are either engaged via TNPA or the Health and Safety Agent/s, shall be reported on either individually or collectively or both, dependent on the requirement. All contracts identified will be reported on in a manner that effectively allows the Employer to make decision proactively. This information shall be provided in many formats at varying times. Other than the Project Controls Management functions required in terms of the NEC3, Client may require the Health and Safety Agent/s to report on contract related information for statistical purposes, i.e., Health and Safety reporting and B-BBEE spend.Align with Contractor on Client health and safety requirements and documentation during the execution of the project. Review and approval of contractor(s) health and safety documentation before work commences.Ensure required documentation is submitted to the relevant authorities. Attend the contractors site handover meeting, site meetings, progress meetings, risk workshops and technical meetings (not limited to). Facilitate site health and safety meetings. Identification of the hazards and risks relevant to the construction project through regular coordinated site inspections. Establish and maintain health and safety communication structures and systems. Conduct site health and safety inductions. Evaluate the levels of compliance of subcontractors to the project specific health and safety plan and client specifications through inspections and audits. Oversee the reporting and investigation of project related incidents. Oversee the maintenance of all records. Participation in management reviews of the health and safety systems. Use of trends analysis to identify system deficiencies and incident trends, outline relevant improvements.Review, discuss and approve the contractor(s) close out health and safety documents. Manage the health and safety during the defect’s liability period. Cancel all construction project health and safety legal appointments.Prepare the consolidated construction project health and safety close-out report. Record of audits during the defect’s liability period. Record of construction health and safety risk communication.Submit consolidated construction project health and safety close-out report.RequirementsThe Health and Safety Agent/s is required to demonstrate their experience in the implementation of similar services (minimum of 10 (ten) years in construction health and safety experience in similar projects), and, to this end, shall supply a sufficiently detailed reference list for each service and supply minimum of three (3) permits acquired in his name on previous or current projects. Proof of competency (Diploma in Safety Management or Environmental Health or equivalent) and proof of registration with SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) as a Pr.
