The role of the internal auditor is to independently and objectively evaluate the organization’s operations and gather relevant supporting evidence. The internal auditor essentially serves as the eyes and ears of the company’s senior leadership and board of directors. The internal auditor will help the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.Their assigned work may cover any area of an organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESObjectively assess the company’s business and IT processesAssess the company’s risks and the efficacy of its risk management effortsEnsure that the organization is complying with relevant laws, statutes and regulationsEvaluate internal control and make recommendations to maintain a highly effective environmentIdentify and test controls in placeIdentify risks, shortfalls or gaps in processes and provide recommendations for remediationPromote a culture of ethical behaviour and help identify improper conductAssure safeguards are in place over company assetsInvestigate instances of potential unethical activitiesCommunicate the findings and recommendationsPerforming follow up engagements to ensure recommendations / remediation have been implemented and the risks have been mitigatedQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDMatricMinimum Higher Diploma in Internal Auditing. (NQF 7) or BCom Degree majoring in Accounting or Internal AuditingA member of a professional body will be advantageous (SAICA/SAIPA)A Certified Internal Auditor or studying towards accreditation will be a distinct advantageMinimum 3 years prior internal / external auditing experience post articlesRisk management experience is a distinct advantageWorking knowledge of:IFRS and IASISA and IPPFIncome Tax ActKing ReportGovernance best practiceICT and its related controls and securityRunning audit engagements from start to follow up and conclusionExperience with non-financial audits would be a distinct advantageBEHAVIOUR AND COMPETENCIES REQUIREDReport writing skills are crucialGood administration and co-ordination skillsEffective communicationStrong PersonalityLogical analytical approachStrategic valueStrong interpersonal skills with confidence and professionalismRemuneration: A market related package including benefitsNB: Thank you for choosing Talksure as your employer of choice.
