An exciting opportunity to join a Technical Team of experts! Our client has an African footprint and global partnerships. They are looking for a Senior Production Manager for the Auto-Electrical Team, in their Richards Bay Office. The Senior Production Manager will take charge of manufacturing objectives, profit goals, and production schedules. Ensure that the production process is on time and within the budget. Be responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of industrial production processes. Key Responsibilities: Leading and managing a staff of 50+ across varied disciplines Managing the complete production process ensuring safety at all times Leading the overall manufacturing development strategy for the areas under ownership for key metrics (quality, delivery, and cost) and actively measuring team's performance against these metrics Providing technical direction and mentorship for team members to ensure quality of deliverables and capability of team members Driving design for manufacturing (DFM) best practices and design for test (DFT) with design engineers and test engineers Managing modification, repair, assembly and integration of production assemblies in order to guarantee achievement of on-time delivery and quality targets Resolving reoccurring non-conformance issues Reviewing work instructions, and making change recommendations when needed Meeting tight production schedules to achieve high-rate production Assessing, staffing and vetting the appropriate skill sets needed Monitoring material costs and cost savings Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (BEng Industrial Engineer) Minimum 5+ years of experience in a production /automotive environment, at a manufacturing leadership level Requirements : Understands the applications of the different material management systems (Kanbans, 5S, JIT, Lean) Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production Able to effectively communicate with engineering and production (verbal and written) Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures Schematics: Engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts list Strong leadership skills Safety training and/or safety certifications Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost equation Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods Network Recruitment is a leading specialist recruitment company in the fields of IT, Finance and Engineering.
