Quality Controller / Senior Mechanic required for a reputable workshop based in Durban Seeking experienced mechanic for workshop role focused on final inspections and quality assurance. Limited breakdowns involved. Ideal for those preferring workshop environment over field work. Ensure high-quality standards in final stages.Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Perform diagnostics on various automotive systems to identify issues accurately and efficiently.Conduct thorough final inspections of vehicles to assess the condition and determine necessary changes to be made.Execute repairs and maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.Collaborate with other team members to prioritize tasks and streamline workflow for maximum efficiency.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to standards.Document all work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, in a clear and concise manner.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics as needed.Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in automotive technology, and new diagnostic techniques through continuous learning and training.Qualifications / Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a mechanic with at least 5 years fulfilling a more senior roleProficiency in using diagnostic toolsStrong understanding of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, suspension, braking, and electrical systems.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.Certification from a recognized automotive training program or equivalent experience preferred.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
