Durban Area – KwaZulu Natal: An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Contract Manager to Manage financial and administration requirements as well as tyre tracking and costs within a Warehouse environment.Please review the minimum requirements, duties and responsibilities below for further information about the positionMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSDegree or Diploma in Road Transport/Logistics/Warehousing/ Degree in Management with financial electives5-7 years’ experience in a Logistics and Supply Chain management environment and Warehousing Distribution5 Years PLUS for the most complex task (strategic planning focuses on the next year’s activitiesKnowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Warehousing ManagementExperience in ad-hoc / open market logistics/WarehousingKnowledge of fuel managementKnowledge of equipment maintenance managementGeneral knowledge of the operations and configurations of mechanical vehiclesKnowledge of general expense management / budgetingManagement and communication skillsSound knowledge of policies and procedures in supply chain and logistics managementKnowledge of Company Disciplinary and Grievance proceduresKnowledge of recruitment and disciplinary proceduresRelevant written and verbal contracts / service level agreementsNational Bargaining Council Agreements (Road Freight)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Effective management of operational processes and contracts/serviceDevelop and maintain procedures which relate to day to day operational requirements.Working on the Warehouse Management SystemInventory ManagementEnsure proper routing of deliveries and scheduling of vehicles to achieve delivery targets as per customer requirements.Vehicle downtime is monitored, controlled and kept to a minimumVehicle, driver and cargo securityOptimal usage of fuelNo unnecessary route deviationEnsure adherence to procedures pertaining toLoading and offloading procedures (as per client requirements)Safety and security standardsOptimal allocations of vehicles and staffTimeous vehicle inspectionIdentify, implement and maintain site/ depot specific requirements as per legislation, policy and customer requirementsTyre management systemEffective customer relationship managementUndertake effective client relationship managementIncluding client entertainment when necessaryAudit the quality of service provided through personal interaction with the customer on an ongoing basis and timeous corrective action is taken when requiredMonitoring and measuringManagement of financial and administration requirementsMonitor and Manage costsUndertake accurate and timeous forecastingScreen all suppliers by comparing costs, quality products and BEEAuthorize and submit cash book payments so that the costs are correctly allocatedReport weekly on projects contract revenue, kilometers and profitsMonitor and reconcileDaily kilometers travelledReport on performance of the contact on a monthly basisManage and control all assets that are acquired and disposed of according to the relevant procedure and ensure accurate recordingManagement of safety, health, environment and qualityManage housekeeping, safety and quality by ensuring that all housekeeping audits are conducted regularly and that corrective action is taken if required.
