The role is a hands-on role, functioning at both a strategic and detail level. The role reports to and supports the Financial Director and is part of the organisation’s leadership team. You will be able to utilise your skills and experience to delve into the operations and fundamental mechanics of the business, grow and develop the finance team, work on new and topical projects in the organisation and conduct research on technical matters.What you'll doFinancial ReportingEnsure that the integrity of financial data is maintained and that financial reporting, including regulatory reporting is in keeping with high standardsManage the entry and processing of financial information in reporting systemsPreparation of management accounts including all associated reconciliationsManage the external audit processSupport the compilation of Annual Financial StatementsSupport the budgeting processMonthly and annual SARS returnsReporting to fundersLeadership ResponsibilitiesManage the finance team to ensure that team objectives are achieved whilst driving continuous improvement and development of individuals in the teamEnsure that team objectives and measures of success are appropriate and in placeMonitor individual progress and support where necessarySuccession planning and talent developmentWorking with the Finance Specialist and the extended Leadership Team on finance and organisational projectsRisk Management and Strategic FinanceProactive financial risk mitigation and initiatives to drive strategic decision makingProcess review and risk control assessmentsFinancial modellingBusiness efficiency enhancement projectsTax reviewsFinancial and cost analysisAd-hoc project related workWhat you'll needPostgraduate degree in accounting, CA(SA), or equivalentAt least 3 years’ post articles experience in financial management.
