Purpose of the Role: The overall development, performance and maintenance of the factory’s activities to obtain the maximum efficiency, production, quality, service and profitability for the organisation. Role: Factory Manager Qualification: Matric Degree in relevant field. Quality control certification is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication. Data analysis and statistical aptitude. Good interpersonal skills. Highly conscientious and diligent. Responsibilities: Responsible for plant operations including manufacturing, administration and planning. Responsible for continuous quality improvement and system development. Good at production planning, materials management and productivity improvement. Experience in maintaining industrial relations and human resource development. Knowledge of factories act, labour law, excise, service tax, and statutory compliances is preferred. Record, correct, investigate, and implement preventative measures for all customer complaints, deviations from quality specifications, rewashes, shortages, and repairs. Ensure that the correct products are processed and delivered to customers on time and at the correct quality. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997. Ensure compliance with the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, Skills Development Levies Act 9 of 1999, and the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998. Adhere to all procedures and processes contained in the company’s policies and procedures. Manage the quality management system (QMS). Analyze data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate areas for continual improvements. Coordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are recorded and reviewed. Ensure vehicles and drivers comply with all relevant legislation. Provide leadership for the successful operation of the manufacturing plant including production, quality control, maintenance, etc. Ensure goals are achieved. Demonstrate strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills. Motivate people and assess and develop employee skills.
