To design SPAR stores layout by developing, planning, and coordinating floor planning and design strategies to ensure space productivity, enhance customer experience, and align retail space with the SPAR brand image. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Spatial Planning&Design: Improve and develop SPAR store design standards, brand identity, and innovative store concepts. Develop pre-determined benchmarks for store groupings by format and category for various dimensions, e.g., Trading and Stock density, GMROI, GMROM, GP/SQM. Conduct reviews of midi and micro space, adjusting flows and adjacencies based on shopping patterns and customer preferences to strike a balance between aesthetics and science in retail display. Stay updated on industry trends and best practice in store design for continuous process. Design layouts which maximise retail store space, sales, profit, shopping convenience and customer satisfaction. Optimise the store layout to accommodate high traffic areas, product placement, checkout counters, and other critical zones. Project Execution: Collaborate with the Floorplanning Manager to ensure that store designs align with the overall corporate floor plan and layout. Oversee the implementation of store designs, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality execution. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure the efficient utilization of space, optimal product placement, and adherence to budgetary constraints and alignment with organizational goals. Finance, Admin&Reports: Design relevant metrics to track progress and evaluate performance. Interact with relevant stakeholders to achieve costs optimisations. Periodic management reporting to relevant stake holders and project teams. Prepare plans and other visual presentations to support design concepts and successfully communicate ideas to all stakeholders. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Ensure collaborative relationships with internal partners, external partners, and vendors to enhance offerings through partnerships and special collaborations. Engage with key stakeholders for the successful roll out of projects, programs and campaigns while ensuring integration with other company initiatives. Collaborate with various teams, including marketing and retail operations to align store layout with the overall business strategy and promotional activities. Ad Hoc: Performing other reasonable tasks requested by management. Matric. Related design discipline qualification e.g. Architecture, Interior Design, or related fields. 3 Years experience in store design, space planning, or merchandising in retail/FMCG environments. Experience with AutoCAD or similar floor planning software.
