Job Description: The nurse clinician ensures linkage to care and ARV initiation within the inmate population across multiple correctional centres. The nurse clinician will provide quality assurance around HIV testing (RT-CQI) and mentorship of correctional service staff on HIV management and ARV initiation. [ads1] Job Responsibilities: Works in close collaboration with DCS staff to meet annual performance plan (APP) for HTS and linkage to care targets Provides onsite training and mentoring of clinical staff (linkage officers) to ensure HTS targets are reached Ensures 100% of inmates living with HIV receive ART Ensures that HIV positive inmates have CD4 counts, are staged, started on ART as per guidelines. Provides HTS support, linkage to care and NIMART to inmates and remand detainees Supports HTS based quality assurance (RT-CQI) Ensures linkage officers are capacitated to follow current HIV, TB and STI screening guidelines. This includes NSP (2017 – 2022) ; 95-95-95 strategy; plus NDoH initiatives eg: Operation Phuthuma Works closely with the QA/QI manager to support correctional centre-based QA/QI initiatives.
