Head of It - Durban, South Africa - Carlysle DescriptionKwaZulu Natal, Durban**Monthly Cost To Company (Market related, Negotiable)Our client in the retail clothing sector has a need for an experienced and all-rounder Head of IT to join their management team.Imperative in this role is the previous experience and understanding of the RETAIL industry (business processes and systems.Purpose of the role:With the growth experienced in, primarily, the Retail space of the greater group, a need has arisen to bring in the experience and skills of a dynamic and strategic Senior IT individual to service the Retail needs as well as provide support and direction to the Group.Retail comprises two companies covering 3 brands and operating across the country serviced from Head Office in KZN.**The majority of the IT needs, complexity and connectivity demands sit within the Retail business, however support and guidance is needed to align best practice across the group.Key Performance Areas (_including but not limited to_):***- Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologiesExcellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systemsEstablishing and managing multi system integrationsStrong change managementStrong critical thinking and decisionmaking skillsExcellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritizeFirm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practicesGood knowledge of enterprisewide risk management principles and policiesGood understanding of enterprise value managementBasic knowledge of relevant financial and company legislationGood knowledge of business internal controls and systemsGood knowledge of corporate governance principles and policiesGood knowledge of relevant policies and proceduresGood understanding of core business principlesGood understanding of management of Business Information SystemsRetail experience beneficialQualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldAt least 5 years' experience managing IT OperationsDegree requiredExperience working with an ERP and POS systemKey Competencies:Excellent analytical skills and attention to detailExcellent understanding of IT architecture and multiple system integrationsGood management skills.Ability to problem solve.Good knowledge of statutory legislation and regulationsGood interpersonal and communication skillsHigh level of selfmotivation and determinationWell organized and structuredDeadline DrivenFor more information please contact:**Andrea Doig#J-18808-Ljbffr
