Position: Engineering ManagerLocation: Durban, South AfricaJob SummaryThe Engineering Manager will lead the engineering department at the company’s production facility in Durban. This role involves overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring optimal operation and maintenance of the plant, driving innovation in manufacturing processes, and leading the engineering team to support the company's goals of innovation and speed to market.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Management:•Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.•Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.•Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.•Collaborate with other departments to ensure engineering solutions align with business objectives.Plant Operations:•Oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of all equipment and systems.•Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.•Coordinate with the supply chain and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes.Project Management:•Lead engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.•Manage the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.•Ensure all engineering projects comply with industry standards and regulations.Innovation and Improvement:•Drive innovation in manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and speed to market.•Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.•Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends.Quality Control:•Ensure all engineering activities meet quality standards and support the company’s commitment to product excellence.•Implement robust quality control processes and procedures to maintain high standards.Qualifications and ExperienceEducation:•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).•Professional engineering certification is preferred.Experience:•Minimum of 8-10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.•Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.•Experience in the personal care or FMCG industry is highly desirable.Skills and Competencies:•Strong leadership and team management skills.•Excellent project management and organizational abilities.•In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and quality control.•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.•Proficiency in engineering software and tools.#J-18808-Ljbffr
