Job Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and communications strategies to enhance Mondi’s public image. Manage media relations, including cultivating relationships with journalists and media outlets. Able to manage agency support effectively to deliver engaging content and positive stories across various platforms. Draft press releases, speeches, and other communications materials. Research and develop messages on key topics for communication activities. Internal and External Communications: Strong business partnering focus, and to establish key stakeholder relationships. Oversee internal communications to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with Mondi’s goals. Develop and coordinate the delivery of the annual internal communication plan. Drive, implement, and coordinate campaigns that inspire, engage, and inform employees. Manage external communications channels such as social media, newsletters, and Mondi website content (including Planetmondi, Sisonke, and our mobile channel). Incorporate stakeholder priorities into the overall communications strategy. Government and Regulatory Affairs: Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that could impact Mondi. Develop advocacy strategies and engage with government officials and regulatory bodies. Ensure good governance of communication systems and processes. Uphold corporate identity ensuring Mondi Group templates are used. Support and leverage Mondi Group initiatives and effective coordination with the Group team. Crisis Management: Serve as a spokesperson during crises or sensitive issues, ensuring timely and effective communication. Event Management: Plan and execute events, conferences, and other public engagements. Budget and Resource Management: Manage budgets related to communications and public affairs activities. Supervise staff or external consultants involved in communications and public relations. Your Profile: Bachelor's degree in Media&Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. Relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous. Valid South African Driver's License. 5 to 8 years of relevant experience within a similar role. We Offer: Duration: Permanent.
