Job Purpose: Co-ordinates and/ or executes the applications associated with the complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act through the implementation of interventions and processes in accordance with legislative provisions; conducting of assessments and investigations; seeking consolidating and presenting information; guiding understanding and advising/ recommending remedial/ corrective measures and, reporting on the activities and outcomes Matric/ Std 10/ Grade 12 National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or similar qualification NOSA accredited SAMTRAC Certification 3 years’ experience in Health and Safety in a heavy industrialized environment Completed Certificate courses in First Aid and Fire Fighting Knowledge of Occupation Health and Safety Act Excellent Computer Skills (Microsoft Office applications) Must be able to work shifts and overtime and have reliable transport to and from work Responsibilities Conduct and follow-up on daily safety inspections. Enforcing compliance with the OHS Act 85/1993 as well as the Codes of Good practice. Advise employers and employees on matters relating to health and safety. Ensure that complaints and incident investigations are investigated. Plan for Safety meetings with Management and staff. Ensure that Health and Safety Policies are updated / accurate and in place, in line with the updated legislation.
