This position reports to Service Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by working with customers to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performance and operational performance. The work model for the role is: Onsite. This role is contributing to the Energy Industries Business in Longmeadow. You will be mainly accountable for: Ability to generate, engineer and commission C&I projects in line with customer expectations and specifications. Provide continuous support to customers and exude understanding of ABB products. Execute preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance work on ABB control systems. Execute instrumentation service tasks such as calibration during plant outages. Responsible for not exceeding costs for C&I projects during engineering/execution. Liaise with other engineering personnel and disciplines to ensure that overall objectives for each project are achieved. Attend to service call outs to customer sites when required. Make themselves aware of, implement and comply with the company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures. Provide quality solutions as per customer requirements and deliver within budget and contract. Ability to generate and provide accurate weekly and monthly reports. Ensure proper documentation keeping according to ABB standards. Coordinate, prepare and ensure that all materials, parts and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities. Proactively identify potential equipment failures and request proactive corrective actions. Troubleshoot equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future. You will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive. Qualifications for the role BSc Engineering degree or equivalent. Experience in Controls and Instrumentation in general. Experience in 800xA (operation, configuration and maintenance) for at least 4 years. Experience in Symphony Melody or equivalent control systems for at least 4 years. Experience in Power Generation/Water for at least 5 years. Specific Skill – Control Systems: Instrumentation (transmitters, control valves and actuators, analyzers, metering, etc). Automation systems. Vibration monitoring (Bentley Nevada). Local and international standards. Project Execution. Experience on P13 or P14 control systems would be advantageous. Extensive knowledge of C&I related tasks. You are at ease communicating in English. Preference will be given to employment equity candidates. More about us We value people from different backgrounds.
