Prax City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Reports to: Managing Director - Prax South Africa Location: Johannesburg Prax SA is a newly constituted entity, which has come about as a result of Prax Group’s acquisition of a stake in a refinery and other related mid/downstream operations in South Africa and Botswana. The company wishes to employ a seasoned sales and marketing professional to be based in Johannesburg to lead the company’s commercial growth strategy within Southern Africa. Key Responsibilities Planning and Budgeting: Lead the company in development and deployment of a fit-for-purpose sales strategy and business plan for optimal molecule placement in the most profitable channels. Prepare annual business plans for sales volumes, margin by customer and by channel. Track delivery against plan on daily, weekly and monthly basis putting in place turnaround plans to meet plan. Deliver accurate and timely input into the 3 monthly demand forecasting process, collaborate with Supply and S&OP teams to ensure customer demand is factored into the plans whilst ensuring 100% offtake for nominated volumes. Generation and Lead Management: Lead by example in prospecting for new business, meeting regularly with prospective clients to determine their existing as well as future liquid fuels requirements, assessing competitor offers against the company’s. Maintain a strong sales pipeline with robust KPI’s for new customer conversion ratios. Serve as a customer voice and market intelligence champion in driving sound business decision making within Prax’s internal forums ensuring that the company remains relevant in its current offerings to the market. Conduct Market research and market assessments to establish optimal sales prices for the company’s volumes. Represent the company in important industry and trade forums. People Management: Lead a team of x2 Key Account Managers towards maintaining and retention of customer base. Define appropriate performance scorecards for self and direct reports and conduct monthly performance reviews for all staff and for the commercial unit. Coach for performance and provide career development advice to staff. CVP Development and Deployment: Define and deploy the company’s offer book based on a well-articulated customer segmentation with relevant CVP offering for each of the product lines within the business. Conduct retrospective reviews against the company’s commercial deals and develop remedial plans for non-profitable customer contracts. Develop relevant sales and marketing toolkit for pitching to new clients. Customer Management: Champion legal customer contracts and ensure compliance to contractual terms by both the customer and the company. Customer Credit Management: Manage and effect appropriate credit checks for customers ensuring the company achieves 100% credit collection efficiency and minimal days sales outstanding. Conduct KYC and TDD Checks: collaborate with central team to ensure that all customers meet all the requirements against the company’s KYC process and/or third-party due diligence. Skills, Experience&Qualifications: A University Degree Commercial/Marketing or equivalent. 10 years commercial sales experience within the oil industry. Ability to self-lead, Proven track record in new business development as well key account management – minimum of 5 years. Good understanding of the South Africa liquid fuels market. Strong computer skills, proficiency in the use of Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP Hana and Outlook is desired. Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organisation Fluent in English (Verbal and Written) Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
