FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:Protect company assets/MaintenanceEnsure that all entrances, exits and the building are secure.Ensure that all security and safety equipment is workingMaintain the alarm system and ensure that alarm calls are checked.Regularly visit and inspect high-risk areas. Ensure basic maintenance is scheduled and time frames are adhered toPerform regular asset inspections and address high risk faultsEnsure all electrical outlets are according complying to regulationsEnsure all plumbing works are serviceable and in working conditionEnsure all general maintenance is carried out on a regular basis Manage Service provider relationshipsDevelop and maintain professional relationships with all service providersConduct regular meetings as per the ideal office moduleManage non-performance through performance processInvestigate, communicate, submit and follow up all service providers claimsEnsure all guards are PSIRA registeredEnsure all service providers adhere the agreed uniform standardEnsure polygraphs are conducted as per service provider portalPrevent shrinkageEnsure high visibility of loss prevention staff members on the sales floor and ensure that staff members and customers are monitored and observed so that any suspicious behaviours/ actions can be identified and to prevent people from removing stock, money or company assets without authorisation.Ensure that all staff members adhere to laid down procedures in all departments.Ensure that search procedures are correctly implemented.Ensure that a shrinkage awareness programme is implemented in the store for all staff members and guards.Establish a shrinkage committee and conduct regular shrinkage meetings to identify and take action on high-risk areas and methods of preventing shrinkageWork together with the training department to implement and carry out Shrinkage Awareness training for all store staff and ensure that store staff members who have been trained in Shrinkage Awareness complete and are signed off on their final sign off projects Conduct regular departmental shrinkage audits (particularly on refunds, banking, receiving and dispatch), identify areas of risk and develop action plans to address theseInvestigate theft/ fraud cases, ensuring that all relevant evidence is gathered and statements obtainedEnsure safetyEnsure a regular check on the following to ensure that it is safe and in good working condition, ensuring that action is taken to fix any item that is in an unsafe condition: trolleys, store fixtures and fittings, racking, packing of stock, standby generator, UPS’s, fire sprinkler system, air conditioning system, building structure, parking areas, compactors, smoke extractor fans, forklift and poesies, electrical circuits, store lightingEnsure that all equipment meets NOSA safety requirementsEnsure that all NOSA registers are up to date and correctEnsure that the safety committee is in place and carrying out duties as required and that the training of first aid and fire-fighting teams is up to dateEnsure that staff members are trained in and aware of safety standards and emergency procedures and that emergency procedures are practicedEnsure safety inspections are carried outMaintain first aid and fire-fighting equipment and ensure that these are available and accessibleEnsure all safety appointments are up to date and currentEnsure legal legislation is up to date and currentEnforce company rules and regulationsEnsure that team members understand the company vision and that efforts are made to meet the company’s objectives that team members are aware of and adhere to company rules and regulations.Regularly follow up on adherence to procedures in refunds, banking, receiving and dispatchImplement and maintain Loss Prevention procedures (manual and checklist)Ensure that all Loss Prevention procedures are implemented and maintained as per the manualEnsure that Loss Prevention documentation (e.g. incident reports, arrest reports, etc.) is correctly completed and maintainedEnsure that opening and closing procedures are adhered to and that the key control register procedure is followedEnsure that front end, refunds, banking, receiving and dispatch functions are adhered toPlan your own objectives and those of your subordinatesEnsure that weekly reports are completedEnsure that the Loss Prevention department checklist is implemented and adhered to.Ensure that all the relevant items are checked and corrective action taken, as neededFollow up on customer satisfaction provided to refunds, delivery and collection customersContact refunds, delivery and collection customers by telephone to ensure that they are satisfied with the service receivedManage the loss prevention teamManage attendance, clocking in/ completion of registers, taking of days off as per schedule, tea and lunch breaksEnsure team members are adequately trained and that role clarity documents and PDDs are in place and up to date for all team membersEnsure a productive and healthy working environment through teamwork, regular feedback sessions, motivation, encouragement, coaching, reinforcement, performance management, fair, sensitive and consistent use of company IR and disciplinary proceduresIdentify potential in the team, agree succession plans with the branch manager, implement action and provide opportunities to mentor and develop team members’ skillsEnsure that contract staff are controlled and trained, that their performance and standards are monitored and that appropriate, corrective action is taken, as neededRequirements:Matric / Grade 12 essentialqualification within Safety Managementknowledge and expertise within First Aid and fire fightingmanagerial skillsliterate on Ms Word, Excel (mastery level), Outlook, SAP, Back Office and
