Your portfolio will cover the provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for patients’ medicine-related needs, and being accountable for meeting these needs.Minimum Requirements:Essential:Grade 12 / MatricBPharm / equivalent qualificationRegistered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)Min 2-3 years experience in Pharmaceutical2-3 years retail pharmacy experience (Student/Intern)Computer literate – MS OfficeAdvantageous:Relevant retail/FMCG experienceThird additional languageSAP experienceE-scripting experienceRegistered tutorUnisolv experienceDuties and Responsibilities:Provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for patients’ medicine-related needs.Evaluation of a patient’s medicine-related needs.Dispensing of any medicine or scheduled substance on the prescription of a person authorised to prescribe medicine.Signing off and checking of all prescriptions prepared by an assistant or an intern.Furnishing of information and advice regarding the use of medicine.Determining patient compliance with the therapy, and follow-up.The provision of pharmacist-initiated therapy.The compounding, manipulation, preparation or packaging of any medicine or scheduled substance.The purchasing, acquiring, importing, keeping, possessing, using, releasing, storage, packaging of any medicine or scheduled substance.The application for the registration of a medicine in accordance with the Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act.The formulation of any medicine for the purposes of registration.The distribution of any medicine or scheduled substance.The re-packaging of medicines.The promotion of public health.Accurately interpret scripts and act within legal requirements.Capture script details accurately and verify patient’s details.Ensure accurate picking/packing/labeling of medication.Provide accurate instructions to patients regarding the correct use of medicine.Keep abreast of changes in medical aid procedures.Advise and assist patients at the dispensary.Follow up with patients regarding script tracking report.Explain all medical aid costs to patients.Ensure authorization of chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medication.Maintain customer profiles on the system.Assist the Dispensary Manager to ensure that all administration functions are carried out correctly.Report on low/out of stock levels and stock errors.Facilitate bi-annual stock takes.Exercise stock, cash, and asset control.Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures.Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.Competencies:Essential:Strong command of the English language and a second language.Good communication skills.Customer service/focus.Ability to train other staff members.Strong attention to detail.Problem-solving.Team player.Trustworthy and honest.Time management.Special conditions of employment:Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.Willing and able to work retail hours.Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.South African citizen.MIE Clear credit and criminal records.Remuneration and benefits:Market-related salary, monthly and annual performance pay, medical aid, provident fund, staff account.ONLY SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.Dis-Chem Pharmacies is an equal opportunity employer and actively supports the recruitment of People with Disabilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
