A leading non-profit organisation focused on education is currently seeking a creative and strategic Chief Partnership, Movement and Ecosystem Officer to join their team in Johannesburg.As the CECO, you report directly to the CEO and will lead organisational efforts to build an ecosystem for early learning at scale. The role focuses on strategic partnership and collective action on the societal benefits of early learning. The CECO will co-lead the hub and network of partners in collaboration with four other officers, and manage the partnership, fundraising and strategic communication functions, ensuring the effective integration and synergy between these areas.RESPONSIBILITIES:Advocate for early learning in policies and practices, and promote the impacts and progress of early learning widely.Strengthen the SmartStart network to drive early learning for all as a societal cause by shifting social norms through social influence.Direct mass communications to practitioners, parents, and staff.Establish partnerships with municipalities, provincial education departments, and state employment initiatives.Facilitate, connect and enhance collaboration between diverse actors to catalyse growth in key early learning enablers such as program venues, child nutrition, and micro-enterprise support.Develop and strengthen the social investor relationships to grow investments and fundraising, including state funding. Oversee external and internal communications.Manage a team of four direct reports, fostering the growth and development of a high-performance team.Strategically pursue opportunities and partnerships across Southern African countries.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of experience in complex organisation-societal contexts and at least 5 years in senior / leadership position(s). Preferably in early childhood development, education, or public health.Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a related disciplineProven track record of building strategic large-scale, nationwide partner networks involving both government and non-state actors/NGOs.Strong understanding of public policy and practice, especially in local and provincial government.Experience in leading impactful behaviour-change campaignsFamiliar with fundraising or oversight of fundraising is beneficial. Understanding of design thinking and iterative designing.Fluency in one or more African languages is advantageous.
