Job DescriptionDirect and oversee the Non-Life function by coordinating personnel, implementing procedures, and facilitating interactions to ensure the effective assessment and reporting of technical provisions and capital necessities for the company's non-life insurance operations across its territories.ResponsibilitiesLead strategic initiatives aligning with company goals for sales growth and client satisfaction.Provide executive guidance on financial and risk matters, supporting planning with analyses.Establish uniform reporting frameworks and protocols across operations.Offer strategic insights to optimize financial performance and capitalize on opportunities.Contribute to strategic planning within the Non-Life division.Develop and maintain robust actuarial valuation and capital modelling practices.Ensure accuracy of technical provisions and regulatory capital assessments.Oversee acquisition of policy data, accounting records, and asset information.Cultivate trust-based relationships with stakeholders.Uphold competitive edge through networking and benchmarking.Collaborate on enhancements to service offerings based on client needs.Lead team to foster a positive work environment and productivity.Recruit and onboard professionals aligned with company values.Manage team performance to meet business objectives.Oversee financial management and risk mitigation.Supervise budgeting, reporting, and collaboration with audit teams.Improve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.Implement financial risk management methodologies and systems.EducationQualified Actuary (Fellow Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA))Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or relevantJob Experience & Skills Required8 years of work experience (predominantly in the non-life space)Management experienceProficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and fundamental risk management principlesFamiliarity with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), and Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM) practices and principlesApply now!
