IT Project Delivery Executive Minimum Requirements: Matric (Grade 12) Business Information Studies/Information Technology/Systems Engineering or a related field. A certification in Project Management i.e., PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) With first degree, 10-12 years of relevant IT experience with 5 years of experience in a Senior Management role A postgraduate degree with 09-10 years of relevant IT experience with 5 years of experience in a Senior Management role Responsibilities: Functional Strategy Development and Alignment: Contribute input and participate in the design of the broader IT strategy and plans. Lead the development of the Group IT project delivery methodology, principles, standards, and roadmaps aligned to group policies and strategy. Connect the Group IT strategy to the transformation journey enabling execution of strategic programmes across the Group. Develop a deep understanding of the organization's industry, market dynamics, local and global trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges where project delivery can play a pivotal role in both business strategy and IT project delivery. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitors and use this knowledge to identify opportunities and potential threats that may impact IT project delivery and overall business success. IT Project Management and Delivery and Operational Excellence: Evaluate and understand the Group IT environment and business needs and develop a long-term IT project delivery strategy. Develop and maintain an agile, high-level portfolio and program roadmap depicting the value delivery of all strategic initiatives, covering the implementation of major strategic goals aligned with business plans and requirements. Lead and monitor the delivery of IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and control to its final closure, ensuring that IT projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Analyse dependencies between initiatives and the impact on benefit realization, highlighting issues to the leadership. Assess workstream status and progress by engaging with the respective Project Owners, steering committees, and business forums. Coordinate change management efforts within IT Project Delivery and help the team adapt to new processes, methodologies, or technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Report on the progress and success of all strategy execution and transformation initiatives within the Group. Ensure that the right resources, including personnel, tools, and technologies, are allocated to each project based on project priorities and the company's strategic goals. Stakeholder and Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders through collaboration, teaming, consensus building, and interpersonal effectiveness. Provide specialist advice to business leaders and stakeholders on IT Project Delivery strategies and become a trusted IT advisor and partner. Communicate IT Project Delivery strategies and progress to foster alignment and understanding across the organization. Collaborate with IT and Business stakeholders to ensure that services offered are relevant, timely, of appropriate quality, and cost-effective. Manage and monitor vendor relationships and contracts to ensure they align with business needs and provide value while managing costs. Establish and maintain relevant structures for IT Project Delivery processes and facilitate execution oversight, integration, and alignment of all Project Delivery components, in collaboration with other IT functional areas and the business. Financial Management: Provide IT Project Delivery financial budget input into the overall Group IT financial budget plans. Manage the resource allocation within the set parameters, and report on variances. Monitor and measure the financial impact of all Project Delivery decisions and realizations of business cases to ensure a consistent and significant return on investment. Embed financial sustainability and drive cost-effective measures to support the Group IT in achieving the set financial targets. People Management: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Project Delivery department to measure its effectiveness and impact on the organization. Set clear performance management plans, evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize functional and people improvement initiatives. Empower employees, and drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement to enable a high-performance culture. Ensure that the team has adequate capacity with the right skills/competencies at the right place and time to meet the business needs. Design and maintain robust pipeline and resourcing plans that meet the enterprise needs and manage the demand and deployment of relevant resources across the organization. Manage and monitor processes to recruit, onboard, develop, and retain the Project Delivery team. Compliance and Reporting: Manage functional processes to develop IT Project Delivery policies, standards, and guidelines and champion their approval and implementation across the Group. Establish, monitor, and enforce IT Project Delivery governance practices to ensure compliance with set standards and protocols. Drive processes to ensure that the IT Project Delivery plans and strategy are signed off on each project decision to ensure consistency and adherence to the agreed-on Project Delivery frameworks and standards. Manage and monitor that the project delivery environment is well-controlled and standardized across the organization. Evaluate, analyze, prepare, submit, and present required functional reports to various committees and governance structures to present progress, influence decision-making and approval processes, and provide information on variances periodically.
