Position Overview: Join our team as a Data Platforms Engineer and play a pivotal role in optimizing the performance and efficiency of our clients' database systems, ensuring they operate at peak levels. In this role you will monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries to achieve maximum efficiency. You will also be tasked with installing, configuring, and upgrading database software and tools. Responsibilities: You will undertake essential maintenance tasks such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering to maintain the integrity and performance of database systems. Apply coding recommendations and optimizations through a structured change management process. Assist with data services integration, warehousing of data, reporting enhancements, data transformation activities, and other project-related tasks as needed, such as instance-level upgrades and migrations. Deliver an amazing Data Platforms service to our customers with a focus on performance, compliance, and customer workload priorities. Qualifications&Experience: Are passionate about their career growth and eager to advance their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Have experience working in a fast-paced ITIL governed MSP environment managing multiple customer workloads. Take initiative and use their creativity to solve issues. Are team players and are willing to learn and share experience with other team members. Hold a formal IT qualification (Minimum DP-900) or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data sciences, or a related field. ...and have the following technical skills and knowledge: Proficiency in optimizing database performance. SQL On-premises deployments. SQL Server – all supported versions including those in extended support. Database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL. All SQL Server features inclusive of Reporting Services, Analysis- and Integration services. Azure Data Services and other Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instances. ...and experience of: Implementing and maintaining database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues. Conducting database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs. Identifying and resolving database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention. Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Backup configuration and restore processes of Azure-based services. Nice-to-haves: A conceptual grasp of Azure services relevant to the role will be advantageous, as it will enable you to quickly adapt to our technology stack and contribute to our ongoing projects, for instance AAD/Entra ID, Subscriptions&Management Groups, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), NSG, Key Vault, with Automation, Storage, and App Services being advantageous. Experience with the creation of Database schemas for warehousing of datasets. Azure Data Factory Pipeline creation, enhancement, and being able to analyze and interpret already configured pipelines. Power BI/Fabric service component support. Experience and knowledge of Synapse and its entire component stack. Deployment of IaaS services to facilitate hybrid data integration, for example On-premises data gateways and self-hosted integration runtimes. Knowledge of data migration processes, the ability to interpret SQL Data Migration Assistant reports to empower stakeholders to make informed decisions about IaaS to PaaS SQL Migration. #J-18808-Ljbffr
