This position is integral within the framework of the Virbac Commercial Department and is responsible for the achievement of the gross sales budget through the dynamic management of a nominated sales area in line with the Virbac culture, whilst fostering a professional and positive relationship with distribution partners, key accounts, and industry key influencer's. Responsible for the management of expenses (travel, sponsorship and A&P) budgets in the nominated area.The key areas of accountability for this role are: Area of responsibility 1: Sales Performance To ensure the achievement of the sales budget and the development of the area’s performance and the ability to adapt to market trends. Area of responsibility 2: Business Planning  To maximize all sales opportunities and develop Virbac’s strong and distinctive image in the marketplace Area of responsibility 3: Reporting To ensure that information and analysis is documented accurately and reported within the required time frame to the appropriate channels. Area of responsibility 4: Customer and Account management  To build strong and effective business relationships by providing them with the best possible solutions to address their business needs. To Maximize all sales opportunities and develop Virbac's strong and distinctive image in the marketplace. To be a result driven Trusted Advisor who projects a positive and professional Virbac Image. Area of responsibility 5: Continuous Professional Development  To ensure that the Business Unit have a well-trained sales team To be successful in this role you will need to have: Technical Skills: Knowledge of the markets and Animal Health products. Understanding the customers Herd Management programs and needs Selling skills: Understands customer needs. Applies sales resources  Tailor messages to customer specificity Language: English- Read, speak and write Afrikaans- Read, speak and write  Desirable - Zulu/Xhosa - Read and speak  Financial knowledge Has a general understanding of the key financials needed to manage a portfolio and a budget of your territory Negotiation skills Stays as close as possible to customers : listening to their needs & non-verbal communication  Building relationships and focusing on deal closure Computer Literacy Intermediate ability to use Gsuite - (Sheets, Docs, Slides), and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Knowledge to use company Systems - Movex Competencies Drives performance and results - Focuses on results and faces obstacles Competencies  Drives innovation - Encourages innovative ideas Collaborates with others - Removes barriers to collaboration  Customer focus - Acts as a trusted advisor Learning agility - Incorporates feedback Optimizes Talent - Build and develop talent network Requirements (Diploma and experience)  Minimum Matric or Grade 12 Qualification Relevant industry or job qualifications Proven track record in Sales Minimum 2 years within a sales related role, preferably with Animal Health experience.  Reside or willing to relocate to Eastern Freestate (Based in Bethlehem, Reitz or Harrismith) Desirable Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, vet industry and/or business 2 Year Agricultural Diploma or 3 year Agricultural B Com or BSC Degree Knowledge of the Animal Health industry Knowledge of the relevant livestock production systems of the area. Experience in selling Animal Health products within the industry or equivalent.  Own Vehicle Valid RSA driver’s license  South African Citizenship  A Specialist applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.May require the following proficiency:• Work is closely supervised.• Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex.• Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.
