Appropriate legal qualifications B.A., LLB; H Dip Tax/Company Law;Attorneys admission examination;8 years post qualification working experience in the corporate sector;Commercial drafting experience in project finance/ banking/ financial & Capital Markets related contracts essential, transaction structuring experience preferable. Legal support to Project Finance and Treasury DivisionProvide transaction advice and legal support on the structuring of Project Finance transactions, including structuring and negotiations;Provide legal support to the Treasury department including financial and Capital Markets legislations and regulations;Advise, draft and review Project Finance, commercial agreements including project implementation, water supply, tariffing annexures, long and short term loan, memoranda of understanding and agreement and similar agreements. Back-up function to the Senior Manager: Legal and other Legal Adviser/s2nd line support to Project Management and Implementation and internal support Divisions;Research, interpret legislation and render prompt, accurate legal opinions;Review and/or draft service, contractors, consultancy, settlement, security, pledge and similar agreements. Liaison with service providersDraft instructions to attorneys and prepare briefs to legal counsel promptly and accurately;Liaise with stakeholders including but not limited to National and Local Government Departments, external attorneys, banking institutions and institutional investors as required. Monitor legislative developmentsMonitor and review new legislation which may impact on the company;Update the Legal team on new and proposed legislative developments impacting the organisation;Deal with ad hoc matters as required from time to time.
