The effective, productive, and safe transportation and delivery of products from our client's Warehouse to the client Stores as per daily delivery schedule. Consistently meet delivery schedule. Supervise loading and unloading of truck and ensure load is secure. DAILY OPERATIONAL DUTIES: A minimum of five deliveries to be done daily from our client Warehouse to the client's Stores. Assist with loading the truck, get sails open quickly and assist forklift driver with loading the stock onto the truck. Should not take more than 30 minutes for a fourteen-pallet load, from when the truck arrived until it leaves. Less time for less pallets. Once admin has checked the load, get the sails closed correctly, securely, and quickly in order to get on the road for delivery. Ensure no damaged stock is loaded onto the truck. When not assisting with the loading of the truck and not on a delivery, general housekeeping to be done continuously within the warehouse and outside loading areas. When at the store, it should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to get the truck offloaded. Should there be a hold-up for any reason, the Warehouse Supervisor is to be informed immediately. Communicate effectively with Warehouse Supervisor and other team members. Once daily deliveries are completed: Prepare the truck for loading the following morning, which includes opening the sails. Assist with bringing into the warehouse stock still standing outside. Great care to be taken to prevent any damages and look after company property at all times. Trip sheet to be completed for all deliveries: To include time left, time arrived, and trip end when back at store. To be handed into Warehouse Supervisor daily. Documentation to be maintained accurately for all trips. Falsifying or deliberate misrepresentation will be seen as fraud. SAFETY DUTIES: Inspect truck daily for any damage or maintenance issues. Ensure truck is safe to operate and in good working condition. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving. No smoking in our client's vehicles. COMMUNICATION: Communicate any security issues, system improvement needs, and other relevant information to Warehouse Supervisor. ADMINISTRATION: Perform all administrative functions related to this position. Able to react to change productively and manage other tasks as assigned by management from time to time. Qualification Required: Grade 12 +/- 2 Years Heavy Motor Vehicle driving experience. Unendorsed Republic of South Africa (R.S.A.) Code 14 Heavy Vehicle License or R.S.A. internationally accepted equivalent. Public Driver Permit (PDP) or R.S.A. internationally accepted equivalent. Valid Hyster Driver Permit. Code 10/14 license. Valid PDP. Forklift license will be beneficial (even if expired). Must stay in the Southern Suburbs e.g., Eerste Rivier, Kuilsrivier etc. Must be willing to do other functions e.g., warehouse housekeeping. Skills Required: Proficient at driving, manoeuvring, and parking large vehicles. Physically fit and able to sit for long time periods, perform truck maintenance, and lift 25 pounds comfortably. Candidate should be dependable, hardworking, and an effective communicator. Able to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed. The incumbent must have high levels of integrity.
