Job Description We are offering an amazing opportunity for motivated and talented individuals to join our growing and develop their career within the Structures team in our Cape Town Property&Buildings Coastal office. Working within the Structures division you will be involved in exciting new projects ranging from Industrial Steel Structures to Reinforced Concrete Commercial Structures. You will be part of a stimulating Team of engineers and BIM modelers who are pushing the boundaries and supporting staff in their development within the 3D BIM environment. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Deliver structural engineering designs in a multi-disciplinary project environment; Responsible for analysis of reinforced concrete and steel structures; Delivery of projects following a modern BIM workflow; Design and model in Revit. Paperless office. Produce quality work that conforms to our ISO quality standards; Attend project meetings and monitor the project progress on site. Health and Safety: Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behavior consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you; Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm; Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times. Qualifications B.Eng./B.Sc. in Structural Engineering. M.Eng./M.Sc. of advantage; Zero to One years’ experience in structural engineering (Steelwork and concrete); Registered as candidate with ECSA; Multidisciplinary project experience advantageous; Key Competencies and Generic Skills: Knowledge of project delivery life cycles and the associated planning processes; Good understanding of BIM as a principle and Revit as a delivery tool; Keen interest and positive attitude to engineering design, taking ownership and being proactive in the working environment; Initiative and good interpersonal skills; Attentive to detail and ability to filter information for relevance; Ability to work independently and in a team; Ability to quickly absorb and utilize company-specific techniques, standards and procedures; Highly motivated, proactive and excited to take on new challenges; Committed to delivering excellent levels of service; Valid Driver’s License; Willingness to travel; Working knowledge of standard office software (e.g. MS Office Suite) essential; Proficiency in design and BIM software packages (e.g. Revit, Robot, ETABS, Prokon) advantageous; Proficiency in visual programming environment (e.g. Dynamo) of advantage.
