Chemical Engineer / Process Engineer Position: Chemical Engineer / Process Engineer Location: Melkbosstrand, Cape Farms Salary: R35,000 to R57,000 PM Company Overview: Leading Manufacturer and Distributor of quality Clay Plaster Bricks, seeks a Chemical Engineer / Process Engineer. Position Overview: You will need a strong engineering background and oversee the laboratory operations, maintain, and improve our quality systems, and optimize the manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, experience in quality management, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Management: Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring accurate testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products. Quality Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Process Optimization: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the consistent quality of our products. Research and Development: Conduct research to develop new products and improve existing ones, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of laboratory technicians and quality control staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on quality metrics, process improvements, and project outcomes to senior management. Qualifications: BSc or B Tech in Chemical Engineering, Ceramics, Geology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of laboratory management and quality control systems. Proven experience in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in laboratory and process management. Preferred Attributes: Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive and innovative mindset with a strong focus on results.
