We are committed to the achievement and maintenance of diversity and equity in employment.Job DescriptionExperience as a Civil Engineer with exposure to Bridges and Civil Structures is required for this role based in Cape Town with projects across the Transport & Infrastructure business unit. The Incumbent will utilize their qualifications andexperience in Bridge and Structural Engineering to work within a team of professional engineers and technologists in delivering projects related to reinforced concrete, bridges, culverts etc.Key Responsibilities:Ability to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skillsDetail oriented with strong skills in structural analysisClient liaison and project managementAbility to undertake bridge/structural tasks as part of project development.Ability to successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projectsAbility to grow and develop the Structures engineering team, including interfacing divisional or project directors, meeting with clients to develop and expand workHealth & SafetyRole model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around youContributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero HarmEmbracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all timesQualificationsBEng or BSc Civil EngineeringMust be a registered Candidate Engineer with ECSAProfessional Engineer with ECSA – highly advantageous5+ years’ experience in a similar roleExperience working on large, infrastructure projects (Culverts and Bridge)Registered culvert inspectorKey Competencies and Generic Skills:Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skillsStrong technical skillsAbility to understand how a structure will behave (stress testing & analysis)Confidence in own abilities and decision-makingExcellent verbal and written skillsTechnical report writingStrong (proven) management and interpersonal skillsAdditional InformationWhat if we can have work-life balance?
