Fullstack Software Engineer | Tech We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Tech Team in Cape Town. About Aerobotics Our mission is to provide intelligent tools to feed the world. We do this by providing tree and fruit insights to growers, in 18 countries around the world, enabled by drone imagery and artificial intelligence. We have analyzed over 300 million trees and 50 million fruit to date. Our team of 50+ people is based out of Cape Town and we have commercial offices in the USA, Portugal and Australia. About the role This is an exciting opportunity to add huge value in a fast paced and exciting scale-up environment. You will be helping us to develop our web and mobile applications which are used by farmers to gather important insights in the field. The applications support our fastest-growing product which helps farmers measure and estimate their yield (specifically by analyzing mobile-collected imagery of fruit on trees, which is run through computer vision models). Responsibilities Our mission at Aerobotics is to help farmers grow as efficiently and sustainably as possible. The Software Engineering team contributes to this by designing and building digital tools that help farmers make critical operational and agricultural decisions to maximize their yield. Your role in the team would involve: Helping to design, build and maintain production-ready features for our frontend applications Improving efficiency, reliability and scalability of the frontend techstack Refining the code base, addressing tech debt and improving code structure Taking ownership of technical initiatives Working closely with our Product team to help spec out the technical work required for projects Creating written documentation on code and design decisions Improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Monitoring of applications running in production (errors, user engagement, etc) Improving team workflows and automating development processes Using customer analytics to better understand user behaviour and improve our product experience Mentoring junior members of the team Engaging with customers to gain and maintain context from a business perspective Adding to our culture of working with predominantly open-source platforms Cultural values You are humble and treat everyone with respect You are able to give and receive constructive feedback You are passionate about building world class products that add real value to our clients You are strive to continuously learn new skills and share your learnings with the people you work with You take pride in the work that you do and hold yourself to a high standard Required Skills&Qualifications 3+ years experience working with Typescript frameworks like React, React Native and Angular BEng or BSc in Computer Science or similar Degree or equivalent working experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in releasing tested code into production Experience in translating of UX wireframes to code and ensuring technical feasibility A good amount of grit to survive a startup environment The ability to work both autonomously, and in a small team to solve complex problems Bonus: Experience building API’s using frameworks like Node or Django Experience in writing SQL queries Experience in working with cameras on mobile devices, especially in AR/ML applications #J-18808-Ljbffr
