Registered Nurse (ICU) Qualified | Multi Care ICU Function Nursing Facility Life Bay View Private Hospital Position Registered Nurse (ICU) Qualified | Multi Care ICU Introduction A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse ICU qualified, in our Multi care ICU at Life Bay View Hospital, reporting to Melinda Verwey, Unit Manager ICU. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic and optimal quality nursing care to critically ill patients in order to maximize a positive outcome for the customer in line with Company & Hospital strategic objectives. Critical Outputs To provide quality patient care byProviding holistic quality basic and specialized nursing care of the critical care patients.Continual communication with the patient and family with regards to the patient s conditionAdministering of medication in accordance to ethical, legal frameworkReview and comply with internal policies and protocolsEnsuring quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to the unit specificationAdvocate the patient by motivating acuity to the case management and notify the doctor of any limitationsProvide effective people management byInteracting and communicating with a multi-disciplinary teamProvide training and development to ensure personal and professional growthEnsure the ICU team works according to the scope of practice in order to ensure the correct skills mix is utilizedProvide effective cost management byManaging all stock used according to unit specific policies and protocolsControl and manage staff hours leave in accordance with the company policyProvide effective Infection Control and SHEQ byMaintaining a safe and holistic patient environment in order to enforce infection controlPromoting a safe and healthy working environment by completing SHEQ alerts and incident reports to the SHEQ CoordinatorEnsuring effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders byConducting in-service orientation on doctor specific preferencesExecute doctor s requests and prescriptions after patient roundsAssisting in multi-disciplinary team members with the execution of their dutiesEnsuring the effective functioning of equipment and instrumentationCheck equipment and instrumentation are in working condition on a daily basis and report any defaults to Unit Manager and Clinical EngineerEducate and supervise staff and doctors on the correct utilisation of specialised equipment and instrumentationEnsuring effective record keeping byEnsuring records and accurately completed and stored in accordance with legal and ethical requirements Requirements Relevant Degree or Diploma in NursingPost basic degree / diploma in Critical Care Science2024 SANC registrationStrong customer orientation, team player, very energetic and god time managementMust be able to work under pressure in a continuously changing environmentStrong Interpersonal skills requiredMust be willing to fulfil a role in the unit according to the flexi-hours system and call system Competencies Problem-solving, analysis and judgementResilienceEngaging diversityVerbal & written communication and presentationVentilation competentAdequate Inotrope knowledgeCompetent and accurate assessment and management of the critical patientDrive & energyExcellence orientationEthical behaviourBuilding relationshipsCustomer responsivenessOrganisational awarenessLeading my example (Key for Managers)Motivating and developing people (Key for Managers) Email Recruitment.Bayview@lifehealthcare.co.za Closing date Saturday, April 20, 2024 Internal applicants - Before making an application, you are requested to discuss your application with your line manager.External candidates will also be considered.Life Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
