Lecturer - English Home Language and English First Additional Language Location: Cape Town, Bellville Business Park Education level: Honours Job level: Junior/Mid Type: Permanent Reference: #BELL_Eng Company: Stadio Higher Education Lecturer - English Home Language and English First Additional Language Location: Cape Town, Bellville Business Park Education level: Honours Job level: Junior/Mid Type: Permanent Reference: #BELL_Eng Company: Stadio Higher Education Lecture and assess contact learning and distance learning students in the HCert (Preschool Education), BEd (Foundation Phase Studies) and BEd (Intermediate Phase) programmes in the following modules:English For Teachers (EFT100)English First Additional Language 1 (EFA100)English First Additional Language for Foundation Phase 2 (EFAF200)English First Additional Language for Intermediate Phase 2 (EFAI200)English Home Language for Foundation Phase 2 (EHLF200)Teaching Home Language English (THLE201)Teaching English First Additional Language (TEFA202)English Home Language for Intermediate Phase 2 (EHLI300)Duties:Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.Participate in relevant programme, curriculum, and material development.Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.Carry out invigilation of venue-based assessments as reasonably required by the Registrar’s Office.Participate in school-based teaching practice assessments.Provide academic support to students.Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.Participate in research and community engagement projects.Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.Required:At least three years of teaching and /or lecturing experience in the relevant phase/disciplines.Must be in possession of a relevant teaching qualification.Knowledge and understanding of the subject matter as well as work-based learning (teaching practice).Experience in curriculum and materials development.Experience in online teaching and learning environments will be an advantage.Sound teaching and assessment skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organisation, administration, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to cope with change.Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.Posted on 28 May 13:01, Closing date 16 Jun Create your CV once, and thereafter you can apply to this ad and future job ads easily.
