JUNIOR PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR – CAPE TOWN The Salaries and wages department require a process-driven, attentive to detail and organized individual to join their team. This position requires an efficient individual who is able to work in a fast paced environment and is able to meet deadlines. Duties&responsibilities include but are not limited to: To accurately and timeously process the SA Metal payroll of 1250+ employees Accurately process timesheets ensuring deadlines are met Accurately calculate overtime and leave payments To ensure third party deductions are processed and payments are made by a specific date Process statutory deductions i.t.o. PAYE, UIF, WCA, etc. Maintain payroll records in terms of statutory requirements. Calculating allowances, shift payments and pay increase Answering staff queries about timesheets or pay slips Liaise with Human Capital on wage and HR concerns Proactive approach to payroll processing Qualifying Criteria: Matric or equivalent Accsys PeopleWare experience advantageous Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Office) – create spreadsheets, communicate with e-mail, compile reports and present data in tabulated form, numerical and descriptive accuracy essential Working knowledge of Time&Attendance software 2-3 years of experience processing payroll for a large organization Experience of working in a service orientated division and environment Qualifying Attributes Good communication skills both written and verbal Strong attention to detail and accuracy Prepared to work overtime when required Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload in a pressurised environment Ability to effectively communicate with people on all levels Be self-motivated and results driven Disciplined in following procedures when executing tasks Planning, decision making and analytical skills Be assertive and have a mature approach Be able to work both independently and in a team Good time management skills High work standards Be organised Logical and detail orientated methodologies Commitment to a strong business ethic and integrity Other Information: Job title: Payroll Assistant Reporting to: Payroll Team Leader and Divisional Director - Human Capital Job type: Permanent position Standard hours: 08h00–17h00: Monday – Thursday 08h00–16h00: Friday May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Salary We offer a highly competitive package depending on the extent of the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
