ENVIRONMENT: JOIN the team of provider of Data-driven solutions with a global operational footprint seeking a talent Backend Data Engineer where you will help enhance its SaaS product while transitioning businesses to new-age technology, and propelling the Mining industry forward. Your role will encompass developing and optimizing software solutions that deliver world class solutions to users which will entail seamlessly integrating various systems, creating flexible data models for varied business use cases, optimising calculation engines for business intelligence or bolstering the promise of delivering unparalleled operational visibility and informed decision-making to clients. The ideal candidate must preferably possess a Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar with 3+ years’ work experience in a similar role including Big Data technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, Data Lakes, OLAP databases; network operations, cloud services, and system security measures&designing high-performance analytical systems over terabytes of data. DUTIES: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, design solutions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Advocate for best practices in data processing and API designs, systems architectures, automation, and system scalability. Proactively problem-solve and anticipate potential issues before they escalate. REQUIREMENTS: A Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field would be advantageous. 3+ Years of experience in Software Development. Experience in backend technologies, for example Flask or Django would be a plus. Experience in Big Data technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, Data Lakes, OLAP databases. A good understanding of network operations, cloud services, and system security measures. Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues before they escalate.
