Position Purpose To ensure, in partnership with all stakeholders, pro-active implementation, management and maintenance of fair and sound employee relations practices across all the Terminals. 1. Monitor&Manage Trade Union Representation in terms of the Recognition agreement. 2. Assists in the resolution and management of grievances in line with the provisions of the policy. 3. Advise Line Managers and employees regarding E.R. issues, such as changes in legislation and policy, relevant awardsand superior courts jurisprudence as well as Company Policies. 4. Facilitate disciplinary hearings and ensure procedural fairness and compliance with the prescribed process. 5. Guide all the parties, including presiding officers, initiators, and employee/representative during disciplinary hearings toensure consistency and procedural fairness. 6. Activity manages industrial action/conflict on shop floor by negotiations, consulting and setting up corrective actions inconjunction with the ER Manager, in case of transgressions related to industrial action. 7. Record keeping all the records of process(disciplinary, grievances and any ER related process) and to ensure that updates are shared with ER manager and HQ. 8. Solicit approval from Line Manager in respect to Shop Stewards releases. 9. Represent the company at CCMA&Transnet Bargaining Council (Conciliations&Arbitrations) 10. Submission of weekly/ monthly E.R. reports to the ER Manager. 11. Conduct internal training in respect of disciplines, grievances, disputes procedures and knowing your rights and duties 12. Facilitates Development Program for Shop Stewards in line with their individual training needs. Qualifications and Experience • Matric/ Grade 12• Relevant National Diploma in Employee Relations or Human Resources, NQF 6• Min 5 years relevant years of experience• Driver’s License (Added advantage)ORNumber of years with certificates and with no formal qualification:• Matric/ Grade 12• Post Matric/ Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 5/6)• Min 8 years exp relevant to the position applied for• Driver’s License (Motor Vehicle) will be an added advantage. • Knowledge of all HR policies and Specialized• Training in: Negotiation skills, Practical Arbitration Skills,• Facilitation&Consulting Skills, Legislation (LRA, BCE, E.E., OHSA),• Researching Skills.• Conciliation, Dispute Resolution, Mediation and Arbitrations.• Computer literate.• Attention to Detail• Positive Attitude Equity Statement Preference will be given to suitably qualified Applicants who are members of the designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Plan and Targets of the Organisation/Operating Division. #J-18808-Ljbffr
