We offer a dynamic and challenging environment where we achieve our business objectives and have fun doing it.You’re perfect for this position if you:Have proven experience (minimum of five years) in day-to-day database administration activities for operational databases and database administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2014 onwardsHave hands-on experience supporting .NET (C#, VB, ASP) and VBA applicationsHave a high level of competency with data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) disciplines and tools (SSIS) and SQL Server reporting services (SSRS)Have experience creating and deploying SSIS packages using SSDTHave experience defining database server security, user creation, roles and permissionsHave experience in maintaining and creating stored procedures, functions and triggers to facilitate applications with data driven dependenciesAre proactive and able to prioritise effectivelyHave exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAre a good communicator, both written and spokenCan work independently and within a teamExtra points if you:Have a Microsoft certificationYour role and responsibilities:Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include: Maintaining high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security Maintaining data quality as well as server and database security as per the user privileges set by the business unitsAnalysing, solving and correcting any database issues in real timePerforming scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activitiesCreating database backup and recovery plans and proceduresHandling data extraction, transformation and loadingWriting optimised SQL queries for integration with other applicationsModifying existing code, adapting it to new hardware or upgrading interfaces and improving performanceAssisting developers with query tuning and schema refinementDesigning database tables with efficient structuresConsulting with staff to evaluate interface, develop specifications, performance requirements and resolving of any bugsUnderstanding issues related to network performance and security issuesRefining and automating regular processesPerforming scheduled troubleshootingProviding ad hoc support to the business units or end usersWould you like to apply?Send us an email tosajobs@sableinternational.com with your CV and one-page covering letter.
