The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires an enthusiastic, motivated individual to manage the strategic projects and operational component of the Groen Sebenza Programme in the Western Cape Region to ensure the achievement of Groen Sebenza Programme strategic goals. This position requires the candidate to be in possession of a degree in Natural Sciences, Public Administration, Business Management, or a relevant field or equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate qualification at NQF 8 will be an added advantage, as would a module/short course/certificate in project management. This position also requires 6 years’ experience in a relevant field, at least 3 years of which should be in project administration or as a project officer. The successful candidate must have the following competencies: Comprehensive knowledge and experience in project management; Proven ability to work and nurture partnerships; Advanced experience in conflict resolution and management; Excellent communication and presentation skills; Ability to plan, procure, and manage budget as per PFMA requirements; Experience in administering or managing Labour Intensive Projects or Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) will be highly advantageous; Good spoken and written command of English; Proficiency in MS Office Package; Valid driver's license with at least two years driving experience; Ability to work independently with limited supervision; Ability to perform under pressure; adhere to stringent deadlines and compliance regimen; Willingness to travel. Key Performance Responsibilities include: Ensure proper stakeholder management for achievement of programme strategic objectives; Ensure proper financial, budget, and procurement management of programme activities and operations; Attend to EPWP Reporting during required time intervals; Perform training and development function for the unit; and Ensure proper Human Resources Management for the unit.
