Medical Aid rate based on principal member only): To be confirmed Advert Closing Date: 20/9/2024 Job Purpose: To perform general tasks associated with the Civil Engineering and Geomatics laboratories. To assist the relevant academic staff with preparation for practicals and experiments and to ensure that the laboratories are maintained according to the relevant standards, maintain equipment and ensuring that the H&S protocols are observed. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Grade 12 At least 1-year experience in a relevant laboratory or industry. Recommendation: A National Diploma/ Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant. Experience in Civil Engineering materials laboratories preferable. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities: Assist with laying out of class material, setting up of equipment and any other general preparations for classes/instructions. Store keeping Issuing of equipment to students General minor maintenance and repairs of equipment Perform general tasks for the workshops Good health and safety awareness Ability to work in a changing environment.
