Job Description Role overview A senior management opportunity exists in the Legacy and Product Management team within OMiX Savings&Income for someone who is passionate about managing a diverse set of retail solutions that aim to meet customer expectations, Old Mutual’s business objectives and comply with the ever-changing regulatory environment. South Africa is going through significant change in its regulatory environment and customer mindset and hence changes are constantly happening in this space. This is an opportunity to play a leading role in how Old Mutual responds to this dynamic environment. The role provides an interesting combination of technical and business issues and requires a well-rounded individual, who can collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coaching a small team of actuarial students and professionals who are responsible for delivering on ongoing product management and the delivery of strategically significant projects for this set of products. The successful candidate will form part of a team who takes pride in ensuring Old Mutual meets its contractual promises to customers and thereby enabling our customers to achieve their financial goals. Key Result Areas Understanding the changing regulatory environment, customer needs and market dynamics, and applying this to the ongoing product management of a diverse set of savings and income retail products. Providing strategic input and product support to Old Mutual’s business segments and working closely with our business unit partners (IT, Servicing, Finance, Legal, distribution channels etc) to deliver on customer promises and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and adherence to good market conduct principles. Management functions include strategy, segment stakeholder engagement (including representing the area in various forums), product enhancements or rationalisation, migration strategy and support, product support and improving customer value. Articulating product requirements to our IT partners and ensuring the accuracy of the resulting output. Managing and mentoring a small team of high-performing professionals and building a high-performance team culture. In this role, there is a strong focus on both savings and income products across both our mass market and middle-income market segments. Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required Qualified Actuary (exceptional candidates who don’t meet this requirement may be considered) At least 10 years’ experience 2-3 years’ management experience Prior experience working in a Product management or development space would be a distinct advantage A champion of the customer Solution-driven, passionate, energetic and innovative Business acumen and negotiation skills A strong sense of ownership, initiative and the ability to think on your feet Capacity to work under pressure, in an ambiguous environment with often tight deadlines and across a wide range of areas Solid interpersonal and communication skills Leading with Influence Customer First Execution Personal Mastery Skills Business, Customer Value, Product Management, Strategic Let's Write Africa's Story Together!
