The site Manex Lead is responsible for managing and driving the implementation of the World Class Manufacturing programme in his/her sourcing unit. The Manex Lead reports to the Manex Manager for Southern Africa. He/She will coordinate all WCM activities for loss eradication within manufacturing inbound and out bound supply chain context. He / She is also responsible to develop a WCM Master-plan from the site manufacturing strategy, providing WCM skill development and coaching for all operators, engineers, supervisors and managers in the sourcing unit. The Manex Lead has a direct impact on improvement of manufacturing performance (e.g. OR, OEE, Man Ex Savings). The Manex Lead is also responsible for leading the digital adoption for site. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE Plan Responsible for the implementation, management, and successful operation of the Total Productive Management process in the plant. Ensure site WCM master plan and actions are aligned with the category manufacturing strategy. Coordinates the development of the WCM preparation phase plan, tracks progress against the plan and leads issue resolution (gap analysis and adjustments to plan). Implements appropriate reviews (monthly, quarterly) to evaluate both pillars and departments progress in their WCM plans. Facilitates the development of individual pillars, sets benchmarks with Pillar leaders, and tracks completion of pillar goals, including participation in pillar meetings, team meetings and activities. Develops Pillar leaders and manages their development. Serves as a resource and coach for questions and practices regarding the WC process Serves as a WCM champion in the factory to promote WCM amongst management and employees Culture Change Ensure that WCM activities are impacting both results and the culture change towards the vision as determined by the plant zero loss journey, vision including: Managing recognition (passing steps, success case studies, competition: Best OPL (One point lesson), best improvement each month, lines exceeding a true efficiency level) Developing a thorough understanding of the WCM efficiency basics and their integration to deliver increased efficiency results early in the WCM implementation including the following systems: OEE Loss tree (planned, unplanned) Centreline / Change over systems Maintenance basics (PM's work orders, Scheduled Maintenance, Breakdown elimination) Downtime tracking, analysis and review processes (Daily, weekly and monthly reviews) FOS Governance Focused improvement system. Ensure effective consultant/coaching guidance: Visits are well planned with proper prework (visit intent, issues list, help needed) Visits are effective in providing the needed capability for the pillar leaders and department managers to progress in the WCM master plan and document learning's and follow ups from the visits, and identify plans to implement. WCM Capability building: Ensure coordination of UMS education across the site: Leadership education: (benchmark trips, pillar leaders training the leadership team, hands on workshops, leadership models) Digital Adoption Lead and drive adoption and use of digital tools across the factory. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Experiences&Qualifications Degree or Diploma (N6) in Mechanical, Industrial or operations management, production management preferable but can also have a trade and have come through the technical route of artisan / technician. 5 years working in manufacturing environment directly with production teams. Atleast 23 years leadership of first line production teams Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) Hands on experience with implementation of world class manufacturing system (WCM, TPM, Six Sigma etc.).
