Purpose of the role Our client is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor who will be working with different trades for various Divisions within the Group. This position is ideally suited to a recent graduate Quantity Surveyor. Experience and Qualifications Required BSc Quantity Surveying Degree. 5 Years Minimum experience in Estimating Roads and Building Projects. Computer literate - MS Office (Advanced level). Experience with Construction Computer Software (CCS) Is Compulsory. Contracting QS or Estimating experience in the infrastructure environment will be advantageous. Must demonstrate a decent understanding of a Construction QS role. Good interpersonal skills and a team player. A valid Driver's License and own reliable transport. Based in Bloemfontein and travel regularly to construction sites. Preferably conversant in a wide range of construction estimating trades, including: Roads and Bulk earthworks, Infrastructure, Telecommunications and Building works. Responsibilities | Skills Assist the Senior QS in Estimating, compiling, and coordinating tenders, ensuring compliance with full tender specifications. Ensure adherence to group policies and procedures. Ensure the administration function is executed correctly. Assist the Senior QS with Cost Control by budgets of awarded projects. Compilation and maintenance of Monthly cost reports as required. Support the Operations Director, Sr QS, and Construction Managers in estimating and measuring construction works before tender, producing the bill of quantities, compiling tender documentation, and managing the tender process. Assist with cost management and reporting of projects during execution. Familiarity with the various construction contracts and specifications i.e. COLTO, COTO, SANS, GCC, FIDIC, JBCC, NEC, etc. Record keeping and document control. Assist the Senior QS and Construction Managers in measuring and managing subcontractors and suppliers. Assist the Senior QS and construction managers in ensuring and reporting construction allowables are achieved. In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the Junior Quantity Surveyor will be required to carry out other duties that are part of the general QS, such as knowledge, ability, and area of activity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
