In the colourful city of Bloemfontein, Site Supervisors with a solid and reliable technical RAN background, capable of sub-contractor management, experience working at heights (preferably towers) and site installation to commissioning are in demand. For a 3-month contract pegged against a potentially more than 5 year project, this pivotal role provides one the opportunity to lead teams and gain managerial skills There is no relocation package extended should you be successful in your application, you will be responsible transporting yourself to Bloemfontein and securing your own accommodation for at least the duration of the contract. Responsibilities The Site supervisor’s role will involve supervising ASP installations specifically covering, RF/RAN and TX fault-finding e.g., VSWR, sector swaps, tilts, replacing connectors, RF cabling, IF cabling, swapping rectifier modules, install and correct SAM environmental alarms, integration and testing on the Radio Access Network and Transmission Network. Test equipment knowledge – site master, PIN tester, optic fibre power meter, E1 tester, fibre light source Perform preventative maintenance on RF/RAN&MW sites. Perform Quality measures and Audits. Commissioning of equipment connected or newly added. Conclude installation&commissioning activities and report to implementation coordinator. Oversee and identify the possible risks that may affect H&S, workflow, quality, performance, etc, and must report all risks identified on time in the proper means of communication with urgency. Civil work builds: to perform quality inspections on New Site Builds in Accordance to Ericsson and customer quality standards. Ensure up-to-date processes implemented with field teams Experience on the following RBS 6000 Installation RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) script loading, alarm clearance, Fault finding Transmission knowledge (preferable) RF installation RF Fault Finding RF Testing (VSWR/DTF etc.) Civil background and Civil Quality Technical Site Surveys + TSSR OHS Knowledge and Skills Good understanding of Mobile and Wireless Networks. Basic Network level competence. Ability to learn Client's Portfolio. Understand Service Delivery Process. Understand Change Management. Presentation skills (oral and written). Proficiency in Microsoft office Software/Hardware Support Basic Requirements BSC. Of Telecom Engineering or Equivalent. Must successfully complete Ericsson’s installation and commissioning course and fully aware about Ericsson Products. Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (i.e., shift work), to include nights and weekends, if needed Self-starter with desire and ability to learn and retain knowledge Must be a team player with excellent organizational and administrative skills Good communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral in English language for safety reasons Ability to exercise professionalism, composure and flexibility in challenging and/or pressurised situations Knowledge of networking principals, Ethernet standards, power systems, and cable testing Working knowledge of telecommunication construction. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions Year of Experience 5+ in a leadership position on a telecommunications site For this locally based position my Client in the Bloemfontein, offers a 3 month contract with possibility of extension and a market based basic from ZAR 30,000pm which is slightly negotiable based on experience Currently I am in the process of reviewing submissions for suitable candidates to shortlist for the department.
