Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from job Leadership Leadership of the National Springbok Women's program - accountable for macro World Cup cycle&pinnacle event planning, implementation, and performance management of all aspects of the program. Creating and sustaining strong, collaborative relationships with other leadership stakeholders within the program and outside of the program within Provincial Unions and International teams. Rugby Direction Maintain a yearly program aligned to the macro goals of the program, which enables the program to deliver on its performance milestones. Design a program that is gender and culturally appropriate for the female athletes and staff within the system. Design, implement and manage the team Game Model and guiding principles for success. Develop and implement collective attack strategy and review process. Develop and implement collective defence strategy and review process. Manage the roles and responsibilities of coaching staff Along with the Assistant Coaches – provide coaching on a team, unit, and individual basis in all the core technical, tactical and strategic areas on field play. Manage the design and implementation of training session outlines, session plans and schedule with Coaches and Strength and Conditioning staff. Coordinate and deliver team and player reviews – training and playing; maintain records of player reviews. Coordinate and deliver unit and individual player review as per above coaching components – training and playing; maintain records of player reviews. Manage and provide opposition previews – team play and unit and individual players as per above coaching components. Selection and Recruitment Work in conjunction with the National Selectors, HP Manager and GM HP, to select the best players for the Springbok Women XVs team in order to participate in international fixtures and the Women's Rugby World Cups. Develop and implement selection criteria per position and team requirements based on the Game Model. Design, track, and manage position specific, player debt chart. Coordinate and deliver the communication of selection decisions to players, management, and all appropriate external stakeholders. Staff Drive a culture where all staff aspire to be “world class” in their field. Alongside the HP Manager, GM: HP and staff department line managers, lead and give direction to the following staff while in camp and competition: Team Manager Assistant Coaches Strength&Conditioning Coach Doctor Technical Analysts Coaching consultants Work with HP Manager and Dept leads to undergo Performance reviews (PMPs) and one on one meetings with direct staff reports (above) as required. Work with Team Manager to lead effective staff communication systems (eg staff meetings) Work with HP Manager to develop professional development programs for staff. 4. Experience&Expertise (Typical educational qualifications&experience) Educational background SARU Level 3 Coaching qualification OR equivalent (recognized by World Rugby) – Essential High level of knowledge around the physical, psychological, technical (position specific), and tactical (style of play) demands associated with Elite Rugby - Essential Experience (years and nature) 5 – 8 years' experience as a ‘professional' coach Experience in coaching women is preferable 5.
