Work with the General Manager to ensure the safety, legality, authenticity, integrity and quality of products.Implement and manage the food safety and quality systems.Management and authorisation of the documentation in the food quality system.Update the quality system as necessary.Report on technical matters to the Group Technical Manager.Manage technical information and write various technical documents as required.Ensure that finished product is produced to specification.In co-operation with International technical team set the technical strategy for BSSA.Ensure that factory cleaning is carried out to specification.Respond promptly to customers and technical management as required.Analyse technical information and implement corrective action.Manage microbiological tests and results to ensure product safety.Co-ordinate technical and process innovation.Ensure effective operation of the corrective action system.Ensure effective operation of the HACCP and TACCP systems. This will include training production staff.Plan, implement and record the training of technical and production staffManage allergens to ensure food safety.Ensure that the factory operating standards conform to the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for food safety.Plan and conduct internal audits for the Food Safety and Quality Management system.Ensure that the site complies with the technical standards of major customers.Ensure that site complies with SMETA social audit requirements.Manage the pest control system effectively.Ensure that new products are developed in accordance with the NPD procedure.Manage personnel in the technical department to achieve technical targets.Requirements:BSc Food Science or similarExtensive knowledge of BRC, FSSC 22000, IBLMin of 10 yrs exp within the food manufacturing sector, at least 6 yrs management experience.Allergen management.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
