General Manager – Atlantis, Cape TownSalary: R 40,000 to R 45,000 Per MonthProvident Fund – after 6 months employment – Employer 8% & Employee 7.5%Job DescriptionAs the General Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of Atlantis factory operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability. You will be responsible for leading a team of managers and staff, implementing production strategies, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesFactory Operations ManagementDevelop and execute manufacturing strategies to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost efficiency.Oversee day-to-day factory activities, including production scheduling, materials management, and quality control.Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.Hire, train, and mentor department managers and staff to create a skilled and motivated workforce.Foster a positive and safety-conscious work culture, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations.Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide feedback and coaching to employees.Budget and Resource ManagementDevelop and manage the factory budget, ensuring cost control and resource allocation.Optimize resource utilization, including labour, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.Quality Control and AssuranceImplement and maintain strict quality control processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.Address and resolve any quality issues, working closely with the quality control team to implement corrective actions.Develop and adapt current quality system to apply for ISO 9001 accreditation in the future.Supply Chain and Supplier ManagementCollaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure a steady supply of materials and components.Negotiate contracts with suppliers and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.Compliance and Regulatory OversightEnsure the factory complies with all local and national regulations related to manufacturing and workplace safety.Stay updated on industry standards and best practices, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.Production Planning and Inventory ManagementDevelop production schedules to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory carrying costs.Implement inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.Customer and Director RelationsMaintain positive relationships with customers, addressing their concerns and ensuring timely delivery of motorhomes.Collaborate with senior management and other directors to align factory goals with the overall business strategy.Reporting and AnalysisPrepare regular reports on factory performance, including production output, quality metrics, and financial results.Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.Desired Experience & QualificationEducation and Experience:Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, including:Relevant Diploma or Degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology, or industrial engineering.Strong leadership and team building skills with a track record of managing diverse teams effectively.Proficient knowledge of business and management principles and practices.Knowledge of strategic planning and human resource management principles.Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles.Proficient in relevant software applications, including MS Office suite.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
